CURRENT JOB OPENINGS 

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

This position serves as support to the Human Resources Department and provides general administrative support to other departments as needed.  Welcome visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone; answering or referring inquiries.

​​Provide clerical support to leadership team members, entering and updating confidential employee records in human resources information systems.  Prepare correspondence and assist Office Manager with mailing and communications. Maintain a cheerful, courteous disposition and a professional image at all times and ensure confidentiality in all communications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma required; college students welcome.  Fluent oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish required. Strong organizational skills and computer literacy required, with knowledge of Microsoft Office systems and software.  Must pass criminal background and fingerprint checks. Must pass physical examination with negative Mantoux test.

HEAD START PRESCHOOL TEACHER

BA ECE (NJ P-3). Pre-k experience, Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.  Serve as Lead Teacher in NJ Department of Education collaboration classroom for Head Start program. Provide children with both group and individualized activities that will build school readiness skills, including social-emotional and cognitive growth. Implement research-based curriculum activities and instructional tasks in the classroom and coordinate instructional efforts with teacher assistant. Assist students, individually or in a group, with classroom learning activities to present or reinforce concepts. Conduct assessment to document what children know and can do and use outcomes to guide planning. Support developmentally appropriate practice and facilitate high-quality instruction through effective teacher-student interactions, extending children’s language and focused play activities. Assist in carrying out goals, policies and activities designated to implement the Head Start Program Performance Standards, Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework, and NJ Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Baccalaureate degree in Early Childhood Education with NJ P-3 Certification. Special Education Certification highly desirable. Experience working with preschool children. Creative Curriculum experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal and computer skills. Must pass criminal background and fingerprint checks. Must pass physical with certification of fitness to work with young children. Pediatric CPR & First Aid certified or ability to become so within two months of employment.

HEAD START TEACHER ASSISTANT

Preschool CDA (or AA).  Experience working with toddlers and preschoolers preferred, bilingual English/Spanish required.  Must pass criminal background and fingerprint checks. Must pass physical with certification of fitness to work with young children. Pediatric CPR & First Aid certified or ability to become so within two months of employment.  Salary & benefits, 10-month schedule.  Submit resume and credentials via e-mail melissam@headstartmc.org (EOE).

PRESCHOOL SUPPORT TEACHER

Working as part of a team with a certified teacher and bilingual teacher assistant, provide children with both group and individualized activities that will build school readiness skills, emphasizing social-emotional and cognitive growth. Implement Creative Curriculum in accordance with NJ Preschool Teaching and Learning Standards and Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework. Facilitate developmentally appropriate practice and high-quality instruction through effective, intentional teacher-student interactions, extending children's language and focused play activities. Assist students individually or in small groups, with classroom learning activities to present or reinforce concepts. Enroll in state professional development registry to document annual professional development supported by Head Start and collaborative educational partners.

Skills and experience: AA or BA in Education or related field. Experience working with preschool children. Must pass background checks and physical with certification of fitness to work with young children. Submit letter of introduction, resume and copy of credentials/certifications.

 

EARLY HEAD START TEACHER

Infant/Toddler CDA.  Experience working with toddlers preferred, bilingual English/Spanish required.  Must pass criminal background and fingerprint checks. Must pass physical with certification of fitness to work with young children. SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS/TEACHER ASSISTANTS

Experienced with children 18 months – 5 years.  CDA, AA or BA/60 credits.   Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.  Must be eligible for County Substitute Teacher certification.

$100/day.  Morristown/Dover sites.
